Ingredients fall into two categories, firstly those that you should always have in the kitchen and those that you need extra for a specific recipe’s. A quick tip, I like a white board in the kitchen so that as something is finished or I see that something is getting a little low i can make a note so that next time i shop i have a ready made list. I am now going to give you a list of things that you will always find in my kitchen but over time you will create your own list as your discover your own personal likes and dislikes. A note or two on shopping, you will hear the TV chefs go on and on and on about free range this and organic that, all tasting better. Well I have to say that I agree with them, But and this is another BIG but. Don't let this put you off, if you cant get or cant afford a free range chicken then remember a battery chicken is a lot better than no chicken. If you are prepared to put the effort in and shop around a bit you will soon generate a relationship with your local green grocer and butcher that will pay big dividends when it comes to getting advice on what to buy and when.
